The name One Southlake is based on the U.S. motto, E pluribus unum, “out of many, one.” While we come from nearly 30 different countries, we are all Americans.
Our goal is to educate students on what it is like NOT to grow up in the United States through the stories of people who have immigrated here. We hope to create a deeper appreciation of America and its history through the eyes of people who did not grow up with the liberties and opportunities many of us take for granted.
We are Southlake-area residents, many of whom come from nearly 30 different countries.
We are doctors; we are retired military; we are teachers; we are chefs; we are business executives and entrepreneurs. We are Christians, Hindus, Jews, Muslims, and atheists. We are sons and daughters; we are mothers and fathers. We are One Southlake.
